TFC was founded in the 1970s by Huseyin Ucur, who emigrated from Turkey with a vision. Upon arriving in London, he quickly realized that the city's growing immigrant population lacked access to the familiar flavors and products of home. To fill this gap, he established a humble fruit and vegetable grocer in Dalston, Hackney, catering to the local community. As demand grew, so did TFC. In the early 1980s, we opened the doors to our first full-scale supermarket in Dalston, marking a milestone as the UK’s first Turkish supermarket.
Fast forward to today, with the dedication of the second and third generations of the Ucur family, TFC has expanded to 10 stores across London. The current generation, embracing London’s dynamic, global nature, is leading the charge to adapt our business to the modern, online era, while staying true to our roots.
Our stores now reflect the vibrant diversity of London itself. We proudly stock a wide range of products from across Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas, catering to the unique tastes of the many nationalities that make up our communities. We offer daily deliveries of fresh meat, fruit, and vegetables, and our in-store bakeries ensure that fresh bread is available every day.
At heart, we remain a family business, deeply connected to the communities we serve—because we live in them, too. With over 40 years of experience and a passion for food, we’re committed to providing our customers with exactly what they’re looking for, all while maintaining the personal touch that has been our hallmark since day one.
Welcome to the TFC family.
